Issue No 83
This time we look at some sobering issues. How will cutting police stations affect policing? We tackle disability and transport issues. NP Team member, Judy Breens writes, "After an ankle operation I needed to use a wheelchair for a while. Buses are accessible because of their ramps for the purpose, but it is impossible to use the underground stations in Ealing at all (no lifts) so the rail system is virtually out of bounds for wheelchair users. Bearing in mind UK current law rules public places must be accessible, how does TfL get away with this?” NP asked a local Disability campaigner to write of her experience using buses (page 10). We also have articles on Ealing Civic Society and Friends of St Mary's Perivale milestone years and updates on various issues.
